Tattoo RemovalBefore You Tattoo: Chapter 7
Join the growing number of people who get their tattoos removed. There are many reasons for tattoo removal. Parental pressure on a young person or a minor is one reason. A visible tattoo, especially if it’s gang related, can hold you back from getting a job. Even the military has cracked down on tattoos and what is acceptable and what isn’t. A marine, sailor or airman who gets an inappropriate (racist or sexist,) large tattoo or a tattoo that is visible while they are in uniform, must now have it removed at his or her own cost. Different branches of the services have different policies. But basically, tattoos are removed because you have disconnected to whatever you were feeling when you got the tattoo. Or the reason you got the tattoo no longer holds up. You are not the same person at eighteen as you will be at twenty or thirty. The bad news is endless on tattoo removal. Your medical coverage will most likely not cover tattoo removal, unless the tattooing was the result of an accident – such as asphalt being forced under the skin in a car accident. Tattoo removal is expensive and in some cases only fades the tattoo. The easiest tattoos to remove are solid black or blue tattoos applied by professional tattoo artists. In laser removal, the bonds for those color inks break up the best, allowing your body to flush the particles away. Also, the fact that they were applied by machine, means that the tattoos were applied to a consistent depth in your skin. |
